13 Aug 2007 - 2 day training camp

Speedwell table tennis club and Scott Webster development officer for chesterfield organized a 2-day training camp in conjunction with Chesterfield Borough Council.
England?s coach Alan Cooke took time out off his busy schedule to be head coach for the two days, along with William Cooney Alex green who are coaching at schools in London, and Olympic silver medalist Andrew rushton and international table tennis coach Y C Thilakarathne.
Young Players from the club and surrounding areas of staveley and chesterfield attended the course.
In addition, players from London schools (TTK) table tennis for kids visited the club and took part in the course.
Alex, Andrew, and William coach these kids through several schools.
Players who attended have been asked to visit there schools too play in their training camps.
27 children attended the course and we had some good feedback from the coarse so much, so that we will be repeating the course in the near future.
Prizes were given by Alan Cooke at the end of the course, which included medals bats balls and Alan Cooke summer school table tennis shirts
